Through the "MUFG Carbon Neutral Declaration," MUFG is committed to achieving net zero greenhouse gas emissions in its investment and loan portfolio by 2050, and actively supports its business partners' efforts to become carbon neutral.
MUFG supports the establishment of supply chains for SAF, which is essential for carbon neutralization in the airline industry, from raw material procurement to manufacturing, and in May 2023, MUFG arranged Japan's first green loan for a SAF manufacturing plant. We are also working on business support for the construction of a raw material recovery network through the introduction of business partners. We also conduct research and provide information on the SAF market and policy trends in various countries.
We will further accelerate these efforts through our membership in ACT FOR SKY and aim for the early spread of SAF in Japan.
