Central Japan International Airport Co.

In light of the "Decade of Action" to achieve the SDGs by 2030, which was launched at the UN SDG Summit in 2020, we, the Central Japan International Airport Centrair Group, have designated 2021 as the "Centrair SDGs First Year" and have been working to strengthen our management foundation and contribute to society by placing the SDGs at the center of our management. By placing the SDGs at the center of our management, we have been striving to strengthen our management base and contribute to society at the same time.
In particular, since the reduction of greenhouse gases, which contribute to global warming, has become a global challenge, we declared "Centrair Zero Carbon 2050" and formulated the "Central Japan International Airport Decarbonization Promotion Plan" in December 2022, based on the "Basic Policy for Promoting Decarbonization of Aviation" presented by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism. In December 2023, the plan was approved by the Minister of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism, and all airport-related parties are now working together to promote the initiative.

It is the mission of airport companies to contribute to the decarbonization of the airline industry, and we are participating in the "Public-Private Council for the Promotion of SAF" organized by the government and the "ACT FOR SKY", an all-Japan effort by private companies to commercialize, promote, and expand the use of SAF. We have also been promoting the collection of waste cooking oil from households and other sources as a raw material for SAF, including municipalities near airports.
We believe that the supply of SAF will become an important factor in the selection of airports by airlines in the future.
We will promote decarbonization and resource recycling efforts with the cooperation of local residents and airline passengers to deepen their understanding of the decarbonization of the airline industry and SAF.
