The Cosmo Energy Group, of which Cosmo Oil is a member, is a company with a public mission to provide a safe and stable supply of energy indispensable to our daily lives. In addition to the petroleum and petrochemical businesses, which are the main businesses of the group, we are also developing renewable energy businesses in anticipation of long-term environmental changes. Through the Group's efforts, including this business, we aim to achieve a net zero carbon footprint by FY2050, as well as to solve social issues and realize a sustainable society.
To establish a manufacturing system and supply chain for SAF in Japan, we are studying the establishment of a concrete supply chain, focusing on a plan for procurement of used cooking oil as raw material, introduction of a manufacturing process that applies commercially proven technology in Europe, the United States, etc., cost estimation of manufacturing facilities, and product transportation and sales schemes, etc. We are also working on the establishment of a supply chain for the airline companies that are the users of our products. We are also working to strengthen cooperation with airlines, which are the users of our products, as well as with related government agencies involved in aircraft fuel supply. Through these efforts, we plan to materialize a business plan that will ultimately lead to the operation and full-scale commercialization of SAF production facilities, which is targeted for around 2025. In the future, we aim to establish a model of local production for local consumption using purely domestic resources in this business.
