DHL Japan
DHL Japan is the Japanese subsidiary of the international express division of the DHL Group, a global logistics company headquartered in Germany. Since launching Japan’s first international express service in 1972, the company has supported Japanese companies’ global expansion through its transportation services.
The DHL Group has set a goal of achieving net-zero greenhouse gas emissions from logistics operations by 2050 and is prioritizing the decarbonization of air freight as a key initiative. In particular, the company views the expanded use of sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) as a key pillar of this effort and aims to transition 30% of the fuel used in its own air transport operations to SAF by 2030.
In Japan, we signed a contract to procure domestically produced SAF and launched Japan’s first scheduled air cargo service using domestically produced SAF in May 2025. Additionally, in 2023, we became the first in the international express industry to launch “GoGreen Plus,” a service that utilizes SAF to reduce greenhouse gas emissions associated with transportation.
With our membership in Act For Sky, we will further strengthen our partnerships with industry and local governments to advance initiatives aimed at expanding the use of domestically produced SAF and realizing sustainable air transport.
