Nippon Paper Industries Co.
As a "comprehensive biomass company that develops the future together with trees," the Nippon Paper Group will realize a carbon-neutral business model through the three cycles of "sustainable forest resource recycling," "recycling of wood resources that are used in a wide variety of ways through our technological capabilities," and "proactive product recycling," and together create a "recycling-based society that makes maximum use of wood resources We will work together to create a "recycling-oriented society that maximizes the use of wood resources.

MCC, together with Sumitomo Corporation and Green Earth Institute, is studying the production of bioethanol from woody biomass under the slogan "Morisora Project," which is based on the slogan "The Power of the Forest to Power of Flying.
By having our group, which has the largest domestic timber supply chain in Japan, take charge of the procurement of woody raw materials, we will be able to realize stable procurement of raw materials, which has been one of the issues for domestic SAF so far, and also to procure raw materials from areas near our production plant and to use carbon neutral biomass fuel, black liquor, obtained from the pulp production process, as an energy source for the production of bioethanol. In addition, by procuring raw materials from areas near our production plants and utilizing black liquor, a carbon-neutral biomass fuel derived from the pulp production process, we will be able to significantly reduce CO2 emissions among SAF derived from various raw materials, and contribute to regional revitalization through the effective use of domestic forest resources and local production for local consumption.
