Sumitomo Corporation has been working on "SAF" (Sustainable Aviation Fuel) as one of the priority fields in its biomass-related business. In Japan, we are currently studying the production of next-generation bioethanol from domestically produced pulp in cooperation with Nippon Paper Industries and GEI as part of the "Power of Forests for Power of Flying (Morisora)" project starting in February 2023. In collaboration with partners in Japan and overseas, we will contribute to the realization of domestically produced SAF, the establishment of supply chains, and the carbon neutralization of society.
