Aiming to realize a decarbonized society, Narita International Airport has formulated "Sustainable NRT2050" and is working with all stakeholders inside and outside the airport to reduce CO₂ emissions. emissions from aircraft, which account for a particularly large proportion of our total emissions.
To promote the use of SAF, we are implementing a demonstration project to establish a trading scheme for the environmental value (Scope 3 reduction effect) of SAF use along the entire value chain, as well as a demonstration experiment for local production for local consumption of SAF, which aims to produce bioethanol from the cultivation of SAF feedstock using the land for noise reduction around the airport.
