Japan Airlines Co.

Established in 1951 as Japan's first commercial airline after World War II, it celebrates its 70th anniversary in 2021.
A member of the oneworld alliance, a global airline alliance, JAL operates a number of businesses centering on international air transportation (passenger and cargo).
Under the corporate slogan "To the skies of tomorrow, Japan's wings", we aim to be "the world's most preferred airline group, chosen and loved by our customers" in a future society where many people and many things travel freely.

With the goal of "virtually zero CO2 emissions by 2050 and replacing more than 10% of all onboard fuel with SAF by FY2030," we are implementing various initiatives ranging from procurement of raw materials for SAF to promotion of its use.
To procure raw materials for SAF, we are collecting household waste cooking oil, which had previously been discarded, through the " The "Let's Fly with Waste Oil" project is being implemented to procure raw materials for SAF.
To promote the use of SAF, we are working with stakeholders to build momentum for the production and use of SAF, including the "Morisora Project" under the slogan "The Power of Forests for the Power of Flying," and examining the commercialization of SAF and other production projects that utilize domestic forest resources.
In May 2025, Japan's first domestically produced SAF made from waste cooking oil, which acquired ISCC CORSIA certification, was supplied to passenger flights at Kansai International Airport.
As a Japanese airline company, we will continue to work actively across the public, private, and industry sectors to establish a mass production system for domestically produced SAF and to develop a supply chain that will enable SAF to be continuously installed in Japan.
